Agricultural Produce Market Committee Chandrapur was established on 12/05/1960 as per the provisions of C. P. Adv Berar Act 1935 and its actual functioning started on 01/01/1968. At present, the Market Committee has a total of 138 villages including Chandrapur and Ballarpur towns in Chandrapur and Ballarpur talukas.
The Market Committee is working on a progressive path with the aim of achieving maximum benefit of the farmers by controlling the sale of agricultural produce through e-auction method, storage of agricultural produce, proper measurement, and prompt payment of compensation. The Market Committee has regulated all types of agricultural produce such as grains, fruits, vegetables, cotton, red chillies (sukhi), cattle and cattle, eggs, fish, chickens etc. The main market place is located on its own land at Ramnagar, Chandrapur and 6.60 hectares of government land has been purchased for the market place.
In addition to the above arrangements, two farmer residences have been built in the yard for the convenience of the farmers, in which 20 beds have been arranged. The yard has wells, tube wells, 1 tank of 30000 liters capacity (cement), 4 tanks of 2000 liters capacity (plastic), cement concrete road, godown, auction shed, water cooler, etc. The market committee has been declared as ‘A’ class, and a total of 21 employees are working at the end of the year. All the employees are working hard for the development of the market committee. The income of the market committee is increasing every year.
The market committee has been successfully implementing the farm produce loan scheme at the main market place, Ramnagar, (Chandrapur) for the benefit of the farmers for the last 31 years. It is getting a good response every year. This scheme includes paddy, gram, turi, soybean, moong etc. agricultural products. As per the requirement, the agricultural products are being protected. Also, the government's guaranteed price scheme for grain and agricultural products is being implemented, and agricultural products are being purchased. Sub Market Kothari:- Secondary market at Kothari has been announced on 22 April 1992. The land here has been taken on rent. Adequate facilities have been made for the red chilli (Sukhi) and grain market.
Sub Market Pandharkawada:- A secondary market was declared at Pandharkawada on 23 March 1989. It has its own 1.60 hectare land. All the necessary facilities have been provided for the cotton and grain market. Office building - cum godown, water tanks, wells, borings, roads, 500 MT godowns have been constructed under the Rural Godown Scheme.
There are four ginnings at MIDC Datala Road namely Rasbihari Agro Processing, Society Agro Processing Dhanora, Shreyansh Syntex Pvt Ltd. Pandharkawada and Riddhi-Siddhi Cotton.
Sub Market Chichpalli:- A secondary market was declared at Chichpalli on 4 July 2000. Accordingly, market fee is collected on the purchased agricultural produce.
Sub Market Ganjward:- The secondary market Ganjward is held daily on the premises of Chandrapur Metropolitan Municipality and is under the control of the Market Committee, Chandrapur.
